BAPTISM / BAUTISMO
Our goal is to assist parents in the raising of their children in the Catholic formation. This formation starts from the moment parents choose the Godparents for their children. For this reason and following requirements of the Archdiocese of Miami, we ask that Godparents are at least 16 years of age, have received all three Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation and if married are married by the Catholic Church. If single, may not be cohabitating with someone. Please note that two Godparents are not required but if you choose to have two Godparents, they must be a man and a woman.

Nuestro objetivo es ayudar a los padres a criar a sus hijos en la formación Católica. Esta formación comienza desde el momento en que los padres eligen a los padrinos para sus hijos. Por esta razón y siguiendo los requisitos de la Arquidiócesis de Miami, pedimos a los Padrinos que tengan por lo menos 16 años de edad, hayan recibido el Sacramento de la Confirmación y, si están casados, estén casados por la Iglesia Católica. Si es soltero (a) no puede estar cohabitando. Tenga en cuenta que no se requieren dos padrinos. Si eliges tener dos padrinos, deben ser un hombre y una mujer.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
Sacramental Preparation is conducted through our Office of Faith Formation. Individuals are prepared within a formative faith community to celebrate the sacraments of Reconciliation and Communion for the first time with reverence, understanding, and hope.
Children are expected to participate in the Faith Formation program for two years and have reached the age of reason (age 7) before being eligible to celebrate the sacrament.
Several special sessions preparing for First Communion and Reconciliation will be scheduled in addition to regular Faith Formation. There are also retreats scheduled. Please see the calendar for actual dates each year.

Note:
Classes will begin the week of September 5th, 6th or 7th, depending on the day you registered your child for. More information will be forthcoming once you register.
CCD will follow public school schedule (if there is no public school on the day of the their CCD class, there is no CCD class that day) except for Ash Wednesday, where there is public school but there will be no CCD classes, but the office will remain open.
CONFIRMATION
Confirmation is a Catholic Sacrament of mature Christian commitment and a deepening of baptismal gifts. It is one of the three Sacraments of Initiation for Catholics. It is most often associated with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. For people who were baptized as infants, Confirmation is the final sacrament of initiation. Once one has completed the reception of Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation they are considered to be in full communion with the Catholic Church. It is a rite of passage and a recognition of a certain level of maturity in one’s faith life.

MARRIAGE
The Sacrament of Matrimony not only celebrates the love of husband and wife, but also the love of almighty God for His people.
It is not only a pledge of fidelity made by the bride and groom to each other, but also a sacred time when they are reminded of God’s pledge of total and faithful love for them as they begin their new life together.
The Sacrament is rightly called PUBLIC PRAYER.

SACRAMENT OF THE SICK
The Sacrament of the Sick is for all those who are suffering from any form of illness – mental, physical, or spiritual. Please contact us as soon as an illness has been diagnosed so that you can have the full benefit of this wonderful sacrament. Contact our Parish Office to make the necessary arrangements for a priest to visit.

If you are home-bound and would like to receive Holy Communion, our Ministry to the Sick Program provides compassionate and caring visitation of the sick and shut-ins.
